An exploratory analysis of revision behavior development of L2 writers on an intensive English for academic purposes program using Bayesian methods

Revision is a fundamental part of the writing process and particularly important in production high-quality academic writing. This study an exploratory examination changes revision behavior, as measured by keystroke logging software, at beginning (T1) end (T2) one-month intensive English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course on n = 39 undergraduate postgraduate students. Bayes Factors (BFs) are utilized measures strength evidence behavior. In this paper, we examine application Bayesian Hypothesis Testing (BHT) approach its implications specifically studies, i.e., studies with relatively small samples intended to search data emergent patterns. The results show that, most cases, have moderate against any change behavior over time. Based evidence, conclude that experimental parameters further work into development revisions should be modified maximize chance finding patterns from which generate confirmatory hypotheses.
